Product Description
The inspiration for this Paperblanks cover comes from a workshop serving the French royal court. The original was created around the time when the Italian Renaissance was beginning to replace its more somber predecessor, the Gothic style, and bookbinders were adopting techniques that would allow them to decorate book covers in more lavish ways, using ornate patterns and gilded details. Books were expensive and as such became associated with luxury and status – this encouraged bookbinders to create even more extravagant bindings.
The name Rose Pink is not only a description of the color of this cover, but also pays homage to the French origins of the design ("rose" is the French word for pink).
