What are the advantages of an Oskar S smoker?
The main advantage of the Oskar S smoker is that it’s a multifunctional 2-in-1 device. The Oskar S can be used as a smoker and barbecue. Ideal if you like to vary from time to time. Thanks to its enamelled finish, this 2-in-1 appliance is of the highest quality and very easy to maintain. When you use the Oskar S to smoke, you can choose to place your ingredients on the robust chrome-plated steel grids or simply hang them on the provided sturdy hanging hooks inside your smoker. Thanks to the adjustable air supply and the integrated thermometer on top of the lid, you maintain maximum control. With the Oskar S smoker you can smoke both hot and cold. The possibilities are endless with this smoker. Worth the investment!

How does an Oskar S smoker work?
With the Oskar S, you can smoke as well hot as cold. Cold smoking takes place at a temperature between 20 and 25 °C. This is best done during the cold winter months. To do this, you need to place a cold smoke generator in your smoker, which you fill with smoking dust and then let it smoulder. With cold smoking, your ingredients are not cooked, but they get a nice smoky taste and you can keep them for a longer period of time. Hot smoking takes place at a temperature between 70 à 75 °C. Your ingredients are cooked and given a smoky taste. To smoke hot with an Oskar S smoker you need the following: wood or charcoal, Barbecook lighter cubes, a long match or lighter and a liquid such as water, broth or wine. You start by removing the upper part of your smoker. Then light your wood or charcoal on the charcoal grill at the bottom of your Oskar S smoker. Once your wood or charcoal is covered with a thin layer of grey ash, sprinkle soaked smoking chips or wood chunks over your wood or charcoal. To prevent your preparation from drying out, the Oskar S smoker is also equipped with a pan into which you pour a tasty liquid of your choice. For even more flavour, you can also add extra herbs. After that you place the grid, the top and the lid back on and you can start smoking! You can regulate the temperature inside your smoker simply by opening the air supply holes (for a higher temperature) and close them (for a lower temperature).
